What we do
FirmFirst captures every client inquiry your law firm receives — web form, email, phone — and notifies you in under 30 seconds. You call back first. You win the client.
This is the story of why FirmFirst exists.
FirmFirst captures every client inquiry your law firm receives — web form, email, phone — and notifies you in under 30 seconds. You call back first. You win the client.
We talked to solo attorneys in January 2026. Every one of them was losing clients to faster competitors. Not one of them had a tool to fix it.
Solo practitioners and small firms who want to stop losing clients to whoever answers the phone first. If you bill $288–$345/hour, one missed client per month costs you $36K–$60K per year.
In January 2026, we sat down with four attorneys — three solo practitioners and one managing partner of a five-person firm. We asked them what kept them up at night. We expected to hear about compliance. About client screening. About the risk of taking on the wrong case.
That’s not what they said.
Every one of them talked about speed. About the client who called on a Tuesday afternoon while they were in court, and by the time they called back at 5 PM, the prospect had already hired someone else. About the web form submission that sat in their inbox for two days because it got buried under discovery requests and billing reminders.
One attorney told us she’d calculated it: she was losing at least one client per month to slower response times. At $4,000 per matter, that’s $48,000 per year — gone to whoever picked up the phone first.
79% of legal consumers hire whoever responds first. Not the best attorney. The fastest one.
The research confirmed what the interviews revealed. A 5-minute response yields 21 times higher conversion than a 30-minute response. Yet 75% of law firms fail the 5-minute benchmark. 26% never respond at all. 48% can’t even answer their phone.
The math is straightforward: a solo attorney billing $300 per hour who misses one client per month loses $36,000 to $60,000 annually. And most are missing far more than one.
We asked about verification — fraud detection, identity screening, the features we’d originally planned to lead with. The response was consistent: “That’d be nice to have. But right now I just need to stop losing clients to the guy down the street who answers his phone.”
Speed-to-response is the must-have. Verification is the differentiator, not the hook.
So we looked at what tools existed for these attorneys. The answer was almost nothing.
57% of solo practitioners have zero practice management software. The options that do exist — Lawmatics at $200+ per month, Clio Grow bundled into a $149+ ecosystem — are built for firms that already have infrastructure. They’re too complex, too expensive, and too tightly coupled to systems solo attorneys aren’t using.
Generic form builders don’t notify. Virtual receptionists only handle phone calls and cost $300+ per month. There was no product that combined instant inquiry notification, automated response, and client intelligence — specifically for solo and small firms.
The gap was wide open.
There was no product that sat at the critical moment between ‘prospect reaches out’ and ‘attorney decides to engage.’ So we built one.
FirmFirst captures every inbound inquiry — web form, email, phone — and notifies the attorney within 30 seconds. The prospect gets an automatic response while the attorney reviews their details on their phone. Tap to call back. That’s the whole workflow.
We added an intelligence layer because it was the right thing to do: email validation, phone verification, device analysis. Not because attorneys demanded it, but because knowing who you’re about to call back makes for better conversations and fewer wasted consultations.
We made it free to start — 10 inquiries per month, no credit card — because attorneys are rightfully cautious about new tools. If we can’t prove value in 10 inquiries, we don’t deserve your money.
We built it mobile-first because attorneys don’t sit at desks. They’re in court, at depositions, in client meetings. The notification hits your phone. You respond before your competitor even checks their inbox. That’s it.
That’s FirmFirst.
